CrossMagic – General Information

What Is CrossMagic?

CrossMagic for Windows is a Windows based database program for cross-stitch enthusiasts. It allows you to enter and maintain details on all your materials (i.e. floss, beads, etc), charts and projects. It will print reports on what materials you've run out of and need to buy again, which charts you can make with your existing stock of floss, what floss you need to buy to make a particular chart, inventory lists, which projects you've completed and which are still under construction, it will even let you enter a search text and will list all the charts you own that pertain to that subject. You can export your data from charts, materials, fabrics & tools, or projects to other databases (i.e. export your data to a Palm or Pocket PC machine and take it shopping). Comes with a complete catalogue of DMC & Anchor Embroidery Floss, Balger / Kreinik Filament, DMC Flower Thread, Balger Ribbon, and you can add your own material types (i.e. beads) if you want to. Evenweave conversion is catered for, and there is comprehensive on-line help for all options. At long last you'll be able to get your hobby organised!

What Do Other Users Think Of CrossMagic?

Below are just a few of the messages I've received about CrossMagic:

From Peg Botham:

Thank you for your swift email with the Unlock Code I wasn't expecting it for a few more days but was thrilled it's arrived so quickly. I'm also pleased to see the added materials list of Caron Threads, RGPB and others. I did use a trial of the programme on my old computer a long time ago but didn't register it. When I bought a new computer I had no idea how to move it over now I'm glad I couldn't because it's given me the chance to download the newer version and the updates. I loved the programme before and know I'll enjoy using it again. I have so much stash it's impossible to keep a track of everything but now I can. Thank you for an amazing programme which is heaven sent to serious stitchers like myself. I just hope I don't blow a fuse when I log in everything I have :o)) I shall be following your instructions on backing up the programme once the info is logged.

From Debi Gilmore:

I just wanted to thank you for your prompt reply to my order. I have been reading your comments on the Cross Stitch forum, and was so impressed with your dedication. It is sometimes a bit scary to order over the internet, but you made it a smooth, quick operation.

I have both Organized Expressions and CrossMagic. CrossMagic is by far the best Cross Stitch organizer program available. It does everything I wish Organized Expressions did. Now that I have the full registered version, I can suggest it to my needle working friends. Thanks again!

From Rachel Wilson:

My entire family and I thank you for creating something which has enabled me to finally get control over the mass of floss and other x-stitch related things that I own. Thank you!

From Donna Waybright:

Thanks for creating such a great and easy to use program. I've never been this organized before. A very satisfied customer, Donna Waybright.

From Cindy Alexander:

You should really give CrossMagic a try, it's great. I've started putting all of the rayon and flower threads in it, and the Mill Hill Beads. There's even the option of listing a stash of fabric, and tools. It's also good because when DMC or Anchor come out with new colours, you don't need to purchase an update, you just add them in yourself. There's an option to xreference the threads to a different brand, though the DMC-Anchor is already done. I'm extremely happy with the program. I had already purchased Floss Minder, and it just doesn't have the versatility, and expandability of CrossMagic. I've found Murray to be very helpful with the few questions I've had.

From Lisa G. Miller:

I absolutely love CrossMagic! I was so excited after downloading it and playing with it for a while. I ran upstairs and made my husband come down and look at it and what I could do with it - although he was not quite as excited as I was <VBG>, he did think that it was pretty neat. I'm really looking forward to REALLY digging into it. Thanks so much for such a useful program - I'll be talking it up to my xstitch buddies!

From Lisa G. Miller:

I wanted to let you know that I just received my registered version of CrossMagic this week. What fun I've had all week getting everything set up. You know, I've tried several different ways to organize my charts and materials (including trying to modify a couple of different database programs), but nothing has worked for me like your program. It's so nice to be able to just key in some chart requirements before taking a trip to stitching store and having a nice "to-buy" list right in hand. I'm sure that it's cut down on duplicate buying already. Thanks again so much!!! And please feel free to use any of my comments in any of my messages in your quote-list (I'd be honoured). Many thanks again!

From Bobbi Bond:

Am looking forward to using you program. I am a cross stitch addict and your program will in more ways than I can count keep my many, many projects cataloged. Have already tried it out for needlepoint which is my second love.

From Diane C. Boettcher:

Thanks again for providing a great way to organize my Xstitch stuff. I love being able to print out lists of the floss I need. I rarely miss buying what I need anymore.

From Dorothy Goodwin:

In the past six months I've been impressed with the comments I've read from people using Xmagic and with your posts to users in the Crafts Forum so decided to try it instead of setting up my own database. (Besides, as an ex-programmer, I'm too lazy to reinvent the wheel if it's not necessary vbg) I'm impressed with what I have seen so far.

From Cathryn Pezzotta:

I downloaded CrossMagic from the Crafts Forum Library 5. I can't begin to tell you how excited I was to find it! I am an avid stitcher, and also collect charts, fabric, and thread. I have been called "compulsive" about organizing my supplies, and your program is just what I need! I have spent hours already going through it, and I can't wait to really get started on it.

Thank you, thank you, thank you!

From Cynthia Charleville:

I just downloaded CrossMagic tonight, installed and ran it, and I must say, I'm very impressed!
I've demo'd several programs like yours and never liked any of them. I've even started my own database, but putting in all the floss names and numbers for DMC and Anchor was too much. Then there are those programs that only are set up for one brand. I LOVE how you include a cross-reference between DMC and Anchor!

From Alison Marie Henry:

Hello Murray:
Noticed your name, and just wanted to say that I love your program, "CrossMagic". I became a registered user, the same evening that I downloaded the demo. I was also thrilled that you (or your associates), sent me the manual and disks, in only 3 days. Coming from another continent, well, that just shows how great a company "Model Systems" is. You must have gotten out the package immediately. Thanks!

From Ursula Adler:

Congratulations on such a neat piece of software! I'm a relatively new stitcher, but I learned to appreciate your program fast!

From Diane G. Barner:

I found CrossMagic on the Crafts forum. I am truly impressed with it. As a stitcher I can't tell you how hard it is for me to keep my materials in order. CrossMagic was a life saver. As soon as I realized the potential of this software I had to have it. Thank you!
